GULFPORT – The Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority approved an agreement today to allow Lyft, a transportation network company, to provide ride-sharing services to airport passengers.
Through the company’s mobile app, customers can now request a ride from the airport. In the past, Lyft users could only get a ride to the airport. Lyft drivers will now begin picking up airport passengers effective June 9.
“We are excited to receive our operating permit from the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport and look forward to bringing Lyft’s affordable, reliable rides to GPT in the very near future,” said Don Griffin, Lyft’s Business Development Manager.
The Lyft pick-up location at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is in the ground transportation lane in front of the terminal.
“Visitors traveling to the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, whether for tourism, military or business are seeking a variety of ground transportation options to access the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Teckie Hinkebein, Director of Marketing at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. “Transportation network companies such as Lyft provide them an additional option for service.”
