GPT recognized for excellence in advertising and marketing

GULFPORT — Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport received seven awards at the 2016 Addys March 4 at Café Climb for its new advertising campaign, “That’s How We Fly.”

The campaign was conceptualized and created by The Focus Group, a full service advertising agency based on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

“It’s been exciting for our team to work with the airport to remind everyone that Gulfport-Biloxi International is the best choice for air travel for our community,” said Ben Hunter, Sales and Marketing Director at The Focus Group. “The airport is a crucial part of our Coast and the economy.”

Teckie Hinkebein, Director of Marketing at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, said the campaign was created to “highlight the ease of flying local to area leisure and business travelers.”

“The objective of this campaign is to promote the value of accessible, stress-free travel while cultivating a sense of pride and ownership in Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport among our loyal passengers,” Hinkebein said.

“That’s How We Fly” received silver awards for film and video animation and outdoor advertising; gold awards for integrated marketing campaign, social media, magazine advertising and television advertising; and the Best of Broadcast award for television advertising.

As part of winning the Best of Broadcast award, the television advertisement from the airport’s campaign will move on to compete against Addy award winners throughout the southeastern United States.

The Addy Awards are hosted annually by the Mississippi Gulf Coast chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
