The Holiday Season is
fast approaching and with it comes holiday travel. The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport
Officials are gearing up for a very exciting but busy travel season. Passenger traffic at the
airport is expected to increase substantially during the Thanksgiving,
Christmas, and New Years Holidays. For
the month of November the airport has approximately 13% more seats compared
to the average number of seats in 2005.
Historically all seats are full during the holiday season. “This year will prove to be particularly
challenging because of the construction in and around the terminal building,”
said Airport Authority Chairman Richard Matheny. “However the airport staff is ready and
available to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for travelers.” Travelers can help speed
the process along by being prepared before arriving at the airport. Passengers are encouraged to check the
Transportation Security Administration’s Website at www.TSA.gov
for useful information to help make the security screening process as
efficient as possible. -Weekends prior to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years;
and -Daily from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday - Friday Passengers scheduled to
depart during these times are strongly encouraged to arrive at the airport at
least two hours before flight departure time. |
