Delta Airlines to Add Daily Non-Stop Boeing 737 Service to Atlanta
Gulfport/Biloxi, MS, September 20, 2004-Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is pleased to announce that Delta Airlines is adding an additional daily flight to Atlanta, featuring the Boeing 737. This all-jet service will offer travelers from South Mississippi and the Gulf Coast more comfort, convenience and frequency in flight times. “Delta and their wholly owned subsidiary Delta Connection/Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) is responding to the market demand of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Our customers will respond positively to this upgrade in service and additional seat availability, both business and leisure travelers will benefit”, said Gulfport-Biloxi Airport Authority Chairman Frank Genzer. This new schedule will be effective January 31, 2005, the Boeing 737 Service will depart Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport at 1: 35pm with arrival in Atlanta at 3:55pm. “The additional seats and the new daily 737 jet service will enable the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport to take a step closer in achieving one million annual passengers”, said Ken Spirito, Assistant Executive Director of Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. With eight daily flights to Atlanta and one daily non-stop flight to Orlando, Delta Airlines and Delta Connection carriers ASA and Chautauqua will offer a total of 520 departing seats from the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
