The USO has been the bridge between the American people and our men and women in uniform, conveying the heartfelt appreciation and support of a grateful nation. Whether it is a quiet place to go for rest and relaxation, movies, refreshments, or a friendly face, the USO consistently delivers its special brand of service to the military.
The mission of USO Gulf Coast at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is to ensure troops are provided a warm welcome to our facilities and a kind word and helpful hand when needed. Our staff and volunteers are sensitive to the needs and challenges of today's military forces and look forward to extending gratitude to the troops on behalf of the American people.
Free programs offered on the Gulf Coast
United Through Reading: Service men and women can visit more than 60 USO centers in airports, community locations, military medical facilities, and overseas bases to read a book aloud while being recorded on DVD. This recording, the book that is read and a personal note are sent to the service member’s family while they are deployed. Recordings are scheduled by e-mailing: uso.gulfcoast@yahoo.com.
Operation USO Care Package: The USO launched Operation USO Care Package providing the comforts of home in the form of a care package. Operation USO Care Package is the only program of its kind recognized by the White House and the Department of Defense due to the program’s strict adherence to security requirements.
Operation Phone Home: USO Operation Phone Home delivers prepaid international phone cards to deployed service members free of charge. As one of the most requested items from deployed service members, the prepaid international phone cards continue to
be a hit with service men and women. The phone cards are distributed through USO centers both overseas and in the U.S., where they are handed out to service members passing through, or are delivered directly to military units.
In addition to the above programs our lounges offer free internet, fax, and phone service to all service members and their families.

Our service men and women are making remarkable personal sacrifices for our country in Iraq, Afganistan, and other forward operating bases around the world. The families of these hereos are also making sacrifices, coping with multiple deployments, long separations and strong emotions that accompany a deployment.

We offer deployment care packages full of much needed items, homecoming kits for our wounded warriors and single soldiers returning from combat, free dinner just before pay day for service members and their families, support for our wounded warriors, programs like United Through Reading, and a state-of-the-art center filled with amentities and activities- all free for our troops and families.
